So…I took a leap and enrolled in esthetician school. As a self-proclaimed skincare nerd, I felt like I already knew a decent amount about ingredients, skin types, etc. but wanted to further my education. Here are the three main reasons why I decided to become an esthetician:
First off, knowledge is power! Like I mentioned earlier, I felt that I already had a good foundation of skincare education. However, I was interested in learning even more about the skin. As an esthetician, you not only learn about skin treatments but also skin anatomy and skin health. I am all for taking a holistic approach to skincare.
Along with the added knowledge comes the added credibility! Being a licensed esthetician will help support my goal to share skincare education with others.
I’m most excited about the fact that I will be able to give facials as a licensed esthetician. It’ll be amazing to incorporate Mount Lai tools into facial treatments and develop jade roller and gua sha facials.
Overall, I can’t wait to apply all my new learnings to Collection of Vials and Mount Lai. In the spirit of transparency, it’s been extremely difficult to balance school with my businesses but I am chugging along. 600 hours of schooling + two state board exams later and I will officially be a licensed esthetician!
