A few days ago, I had the opportunity to pop over to the Peach and Lily office for a facial with the founder, Alicia Yoon. She’s not only a licensed esthetician but also a Harvard Business School grad. Total #girlboss, all around career goals and a treasure trove of knowledge when it comes to skincare and wellness. Read more for some of the skincare tips I learned from Alicia and a peek into the new Peach & Lily line!
We first started off with an initial consultation and it was refreshing to see such a holistic approach to skincare. It’s not just the products. It’s also about the sleep, food, stress, water intake and so much more. I struggle with both acne and eczema, which according to Alicia is connected with inflammation. One of her recommendations was to incorporate more anti-inflammatory foods into my diet like salmon and green leafy vegetables.
Alicia also has eczema and she shared some of her tips with me. She said that when she’s struggling through a really rough bout of eczema, she takes a bleach bath to kill the bacteria on the skin, which reduces the itchiness and redness. She emphasized that it’s important afterwards to seal the moisture into the skin. I’ve been trying to avoid topical steroids to treat my eczema since it thins out and weakens the skin over time so definitely will be trying out this treatment.
For the facial, Alicia used products from the new Peach & Lily skincare line! The entire line is gentle enough even for people with sensitive skin like me and is made with safe ingredients and years of research and development.
I love all the textures and scents. The Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask is a gentle exfoliating mask with AHA, BHA and blue agave. It essentially “unglues” dead skin cells and “degunks” the impurities within pores. My skin is usually really sensitive to these types of masks but this one was gentle enough that my face didn’t turn red at all!
The product I’m most excited about is the Glass Skin Refining Serum. When Alicia was applying it during my facial, it was so lightweight and refreshing on the skin. I’ve been loving the glass skin trend, which is pretty much the look of skin that is pore-less, hydrated and smooth so that it looks like glass. It’s big in Korean beauty right and for good reason! I’m all about healthy, radiant skin.
How gorgeous is this texture? This is a close-up of the Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream. It’s non-greasy, velvety and soft. I have combination skin and it’s hard to find the right balance between a moisturizer that is hydrating enough for my dry spots but not too heavy for my more oily t-zone. This cream was just the right amount of hydration!
A big thanks to Alicia Yoon and the Peach & Lily team for having me!
