You may have already seen these dreamy pink hued products before on your Instagram feed. The Watermelon Glow collection from Glow Recipe has been a fan favorite ever since its launch. I posted about the mask a few times on Instagram and it was one became one of my most asked about products in Instagram DMs. I’ve also been testing their newest Watermelon Glow product, the Pink Juice Moisturizer, for almost two weeks now. After I mentioned the new moisturizer on Instagram, I received so many requests for a review so I thought I might as well review both products from the Watermelon Glow line. Glow Recipe is a Korean beauty e-commerce site founded by beauty industry veterans Sarah Lee and Christine Chang. Based on their conversations with customers, they created products that combined everything they loved about Korean skincare with customer needs. The result? Products based in innovation, excitement and sensoriality. They coined the term “skin-tertainment,” based on the idea that your skincare routine should be fun!
First up is the newest release, the Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer. It’s a lightweight moisturizer made up of 90% watermelon extract.
Ingredient Focus:
The product is made to be ultra-hydrating + radiance-boosting and was formulated specifically for oily/combination skin. For drier skin types, Sarah and Christine recommend using this as a serum, under your moisturizer.
I have discovered that this is the perfect skin primer for makeup. I’ve been trying to condense the steps in my morning routine so I’ve been cutting the traditional makeup primer out and having my moisturizer do double-duty. However, daytime moisturizers have been a big pain point of mine recently because they’ve all been making my makeup go on unevenly or pill. The Pink Juice Moisturizer makes my skin nice and hydrated and doesn’t pill when you put on foundation or BB cream. It also feels so good to apply – the cooling, lightweight texture feels like my skin is getting drenched with hydration, without an oily or greasy feeling afterwards. Overall, I am a big fan.
The Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask was the best-selling mask on Sephora in 2017 and sold out seven times! Like the moisturizer, it contains watermelon and hyaluronic acid. The mask also contains AHAs that work while you sleep to gently smooth the surface of the skin and remove dead skin cells. The result is radiant, soft skin when you wake up. The scent reminds me of a watermelon Jolly Rancher but in a nice way. I love the mini version, I think it is the cutest thing ever. Very excited to see what Glow Recipe comes out with next!
