A few weeks ago, I attended Her Conference for the second year in a row. I feel like every year I learn a little bit more about how to navigate life, career and business. This year, I had the opportunity to attend on behalf of Bliss, one of my favorite beauty brands. They’re both cruelty free and blissfully free of harmful ingredients. Read more for a peek at the amazing booth Bliss set up at the conference and some key takeaways that I left Her Conference with.
Before the conference, Bliss was kind enough to send over a few of their products for me to test out. One standout was the Makeup Melt – Never Greasy Eye Makeup Remover Gel. It’s a gentle but effective eye makeup remover that erases all traces of makeup without any oily residue afterwards. Even works on waterproof mascara and eyeliner! They also sent over three products from the Pore Patrol line: Clay to Foam Purifying Cleanser with Willow Bark, Oil-Free Hydrator with Willow Bark and Deep Detox Four-Clay Souffle Mask. I came into the conference with squeaky clean skin and clear pores!
The first thing I did when I got to Her Conference was pop by the Bliss activation booth to test out all of their amazing products. Their whole belief is that inner happiness unlocks outer beauty and that messaging is clear throughout the fun set ups they had. Talk about lemon bath heaven.
The Lemon & Sage Body Butter is one of my favorites to apply after a shower. It has such a calming and relaxing scent and is a cult favorite for a reason!
Some of the other products that caught my eye were the face masks. Such fun packaging and cute names. The Mighty Marshmallow Bright & Radiant Whipped Mask has such a decadent, airy texture. It contains marshmallow root extract to help brighten skin and a surge of hydration for a healthy glow. Super fun to put on and easy to wash off.
The What-a-Melon Reviving & De-stressing Overnight Mask is rich in nutrients and brings tired, stressed out skin back to life overnight. Smells amazing, looks amazing, feels amazing.
One of my takeaways from the conference was that as important as it is to work hard and pursue your goals, it is equally as important to take a moment for yourself and prioritize your well-being. Face masks are a great way to do so. I find masking so relaxing and it’s great to do in the evenings after dinner or in the mornings as you get ready for the day with a cup of tea.
Samantha Barry, the newly appointed Editor-in-Chief at Glamour was one of my favorite speakers from the conference. I thought she was so well-spoken and intelligent. One takeaway from her speech is to ask yourself: what is your unique perspective? What are you bringing to the table that others can’t? She uses her unique perspective to continue to differentiate and innovate Glamour from their unexpected spins on stories to their entire issue dedicated to tackling the discussion of money.
The advice that seemed to come up over and over again is that no one knows exactly what they’re doing 100% of the time. There is no set path and you don’t need to have it all figured out. As long as you continue to make smart, strategic decisions and prioritize growth and education, it will work out! This past year has been crazy and filled with “is this the right life decision for me to make?” types of situations so I’m definitely taking this advice to heart. Looking forward to learning even more next year!!
