If you know me in real life, you know that I take my nighttime routine very seriously. I’ve *never* gone to bed with my makeup on! Even if it is 5 am in the morning, I will always floss, brush my teeth and take off my makeup. For those days when I want something quick, simple and easy, I turn to the genius invention that is micellar water. Basically, micellar water is an all-in-one cleanser and makeup remover that you don’t need to rinse off. Seriously so convenient.

The method I’ve found that works the most effectively for me is to soak a cotton pad in micellar water and then press and hold the pad over my eyes to remove my eye makeup. Then, I flip the cotton pad over and go in gentle sweeping motions across the rest of my face to remove the remaining makeup. Just to make sure I’ve removed all traces of makeup and dirt, I will soak a clean cotton pad with micellar water again and go over my face one more time.

For those days when I’m wearing heavier makeup than usual, I turn to the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water All-in-1 Waterproof version. It’s perfect for gently removing waterproof mascara and matte lipstick. My sister wears waterproof mascara daily so this is the one that she always uses.
