Korean beauty, known as k-beauty, has been getting more and more popular recently because people have started noticing Koreans’ flawless, even-toned complexions. Essences, sheet masks and cushion compacts are all k-beauty influenced. Peach&Lily reached out to introduce me to the exciting world of Korean skincare and sent over some products to test out! Read more to see my unboxing and learn some Korean beauty routine tips to achieve perfect skin.
Peach&Lily was started by #girlboss Alicia Yoon, a Harvard Business School grad and licensed esthetician. She has a rigorous curation process to bring the newst skincare innovations in Asia to the United States. I love the logo! I thought it was so clever how it incorporates both the P and the L. The packaging and tissue paper was beautiful as well. I always appreciate thoughtful packaging design.
I received the Mizon Snail Repair Cream, Aromatica Sea Daffodil Aqua Toner, Lotus Leaf and Lemon Mist, Lagom Cellup Gel To Water Cleanser, two Cremorlab sheet masks and one tea tree sheet mask. Peach&Lily recommends incorporating one new product at a time into your skincare routine to see what works for you. I’m still in the process of testing out the products so I’ll post more detailed review in the future!
Korean Beauty Routine Tips:
1. Double-cleanse.
First use an oil cleanser to remove makeup, SPF and sebum and then use a water based cleanser to remove the rest. Lightly massage the cleansers in circular motions to promote blood flow and circulation. Using two cleansers ensures that all the dirt, oil and makeup on the skin is fully removed.
2. Use toner.
Toners balance skin’s pH levels, which keeps your skin healthy. It also hydrates and preps the skin for the other products in the routine.
3. Order of application matters.
When applying serums and treatments, apply from less viscous to more viscous. The reason order matters is that products absorb into the skin at different rates.
4. Always use SPF.
Korean beauty places a huge emphasis on protecting the skin from harmful UV rays, which damage + age skin.
5. Use a mask weekly.
Sheet masks give your skin a boost for a dewy glow. Save the essence that’s left over from the sheet mask to apply on the face afterwards
Personally, my skin has been hating me lately and has been breaking out a lot, even though I pay attention to my skincare. I’m excited to try out these Korean beauty routine tips and see if it helps with my acne! Will report back with details.
