Glossier recently launched three new flavors of their very popular Balm DotCom Skin Salve. I’ve raved about how much I love the original version (review here) and the coconut version (review here). These three new balms are scented and smell amazing. How cute is the packaging! Read more for my full review on the Glossier Flavored Balm DotComs in Rose, Cherry & Mint.
All of the balm dotcoms contain castor seed oil (a natural plant extract that acts as an emollient to keep moisture locked in), beeswax (another natural emollient which acts as a protective barrier), cupuacu fruit extract (an organic moisturizer with Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids) and rice bran + rosemary leaf extracts (antioxidants that combat skin damage). To use, you swipe the salve onto lips for long-lasting hydration and an ultra dewy sheen.
Rose is described as smelling unlike any other rose: sugary sweet, fully-bloomed and freshly cut. I adore anything rose scented so Rose is right up my alley.
Cherry smells exactly like a cherry popsicle and it reminds me of childhood summers. I also love that Cherry is more pigmented than the others so it leaves a noticeable hint of color on the lips.
Mint is the only balm that has both a scent and a flavor. It contains menthol for a tingly, cooling sensation and is great for mornings when you need a fresh start.
Rose and Cherry both have a slight tint but Mint is clear. On the lips, the light pink tint of Rose is barely noticeable and looks clear. Cherry, however, leaves lips with a red tint, kind of like how your lips look after eating a cherry popsicle. Cherry and Rose also work as cheek stains for a subtle and dewy glow. I included a swatch by Sabrina from The Beauty Look Book, one of my favorite beauty blogs.
All the Glossier flavored balm dotcoms are $12 each for 0.5 fl oz/15 mL and the available flavors are Coconut, Rose, Cherry + Mint. Right now, Glossier has a special trio set for the newly released flavored balm dotcoms available for $30, but you can also buy them individually. Click here to get 20% off your first order!
