This is the product I’ve been dying for Glossier to make. I’m all about the dewy face trend but I tend to have oily skin, especially during the summer, so sometimes I need something a little more mattifying. Meet Wowder!! Plus brush. Read more for my detailed review on what I think makes Wowder unlike the other face powders out there.
What is Wowder you might ask? It’s a super lightweight powder that comes in three adaptable shades. I’m a medium in the Glossier Stretch Concealer & Skin Tint and a light medium in Wowder.
For reference, here’s a handy little chart to help you figure out which shade is for you!
Wowder was created to cut shine, set makeup and blue the appearance of pores. The formula absorbs oil but kind of blends into the skin, so your face doesn’t look cakey. It’s also the perfect amount of mattifying. It reduces the shine without making your skin look flat. Plus since there are shades created for different skin tones, there’s no white chalkiness.
Diamond Powder: counteracts the flat effect of other face powders with these light-reflecting particles
Kaolin Clay: a super fine clay that does an amazing job at absorbing oil throughout the day
Vitamin E: a moisturizing antioxidant that gives Wowder a silky, non-drying texture
Honestly, the packaging is the real standout for me. Someone finally came up with a solution for loose powder packaging, thank you Glossier!!! The trampoline mesh keeps the powder from spilling out all over the place. It also helps your brush pick up the exact amount of product needed so you don’t end up with a huge wad of powder on your brush. I seriously can’t say enough good things about the thought that was put into the Wowder packaging.
The trampoline mesh makes it so travel friendly and perfect for the handbag. I used to carry around the travel sized Laura Mercier face powder but it would always spills out because there’s no way to seal the powder in. (Which never made sense to me!!!! Why not just make a closure or switch to seal in the powder?!?)
The Wowder Brush is designed to work with Wowder. It has soft, dense bristles to pick up the perfect amount of product. I like that the brush is small enough that you can reach the sides of your nose and under your eyes.
Plus, it comes in a cute travel friendly pouch. Makes it easy to throw into your bag without worrying about your brush getting dirty. Glossier really thinks of everything.
Ready to be taken anywhere and everywhere!
