Favorite Skincare Products of 2016:
1. Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream
2. Tatcha Classic Rice Enzyme Powder
3. Eve Lom Cleanser
4. Glossier Priming Moisturizer
5. Belif Moisturizing & Firming Eye Cream
6. Handmade Skin Salve
7. Handmade Facial Oil

Now that the year is coming to a close, I thought I’d do a compilation of my favorite skincare products of 2016. These are my most used, can’t live without products that I use pretty much every single day. In the list, I’ve included two skincare products that I made on my own! I’ve gotten a lot more into natural beauty lately and have been experimenting with some of my own formulations (will do a more detailed post about this in the future). Read more for detailed reviews on why each of these favorite products made it onto my list + instructions on how to enter the giveaway!

1. Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream
Call me crazy but after trying this cream for the first time a few months ago, I was so in love with it that I went and bought four more. I even bought one for my boyfriend to use after he shaves. I love the consistency and texture of the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream and it works so well to soothe irritated or red skin. I use it at night and wake up with zero redness and nothing but soft skin. It is magic!!! This was one of the first products that really sold me on k-beauty. I especially like to use it when I’m using acne medication that is harsh on my skin (like benzoyl peroxide).

2. Tatcha Classic Rice Enzyme Powder
All my friends know that I am obsessed with Tatcha. I’ve even converted my roommate and two of my best friends into Tatcha consumers!! I’ve tried so many face cleansers over these past few years and this rice enzyme powder is still my top pick. It makes my skin feel really clean afterwards, without feeling dry. Plus it does a really great job of removing dead skin cells. (Pro tip: if you order from the Tatcha website and use the code WELCOMEGIFT, you get a travel sized Classic Rice Enzyme Powder for free!)

3. Eve Lom Cleanser
So…Vogue called this the “best cleanser in the world” which must mean something. It has an interesting scent and texture but is filled with essential oils and cocoa butter so it moisturizes the skin as it cleanses. It also comes with a muslin cloth which you use to remove the cleansing balm from the skin. I think this Eve Lom Cleanser does a really good job at being thorough at removing all my makeup. Since I’ve been using it, I’ve noticed a reduction in break outs, in part because I’ve been cleaning my face better.

4. Glossier Priming Moisturizer
I use this moisturizer every. single. day. It’s really lightweight but buildable and never makes my skin break out. I got my sister hooked also so now she uses it religiously as well, haha. You can use this link to get 10% off your first order and free shipping on all orders over $30!

5. Belif Moisturizing & Firming Eye Cream
I first started using this a few weeks ago after not loving the past few eye creams I’ve tried. In fact, this might be the first eye cream that I truly like. It has a good texture and provides nice hydration. First Klairs, now Belif…I’m really starting to join this whole k-beauty trend. Belif has some really great value sets – the Belif On the Go Bestsellers Holiday Travel Kit is the set I’ve been using all winter and it’s only $20!

6. Handmade Skin Salve
I’ve been experimenting with different skin salve recipes to find something that will treat my eczema. My goal is to find a more natural solution to my eczema than my steroid cream I currently use.

7. Handmade Facial Oil
I use this facial oil every single night by mixing a few drops into my moisturizer (either the Klairs Midnight Calming Cream or the Glossier Priming Moisturizer). It absorbs into the skin really well and doesn’t leave it feeling greasy or oily. I’ve been waking up in the morning with glowy skin!

I’ve always loved arts and crafts since I was young, so it’s been really fun to play around with ingredients and make some beauty products of my own. I’ll make a post in the future with more details of this DIY project. Here’s my roundup of my favorite makeup products of 2016!
