What if I told you that you could get free beauty products in exchange for recycling your empties? These empties were probably beauty products you’ve finished that you were just going to throw away anyways. Today I’m going to share my guide on how to get free beauty products by trading in your empty ones. Good for your wallet and good for the environment!
The first step is to save your empties! Instead of throwing them out, I keep mine in a little basket next to my makeup desk. (This is also how I keep track of the products I need to feature in my #COVempties posts.) Once the basket starts to get full, I know it’s time to put them to use.
The next step is to bring your little bag of empties to Credo Beauty, a clean beauty retailer. They have an amazing partnership with Terracycle where you can recycle your beauty products in exchange for reward points.
They accept most haircare, makeup, body, skincare and wellness products as long as they are completely empty and rinsed out. You can recycle up to 12 products at a time and you get 10 points for every full-size product you recycle.
The Credo Rewards Program is where the points come into play. You can redeem your points for free product, starting at as little as 100 points! For 500 points, you can usually redeem for amazing full-size products.
Here’s an example of the products you can redeem your points for. The products range from 100-500 points. On a recent trip, I redeemed my points for the Moon Juice SUPERYOU Daily Stress Management Supplements and the Mara Universal Face Oil.
Whenever I go to Credo to recycle my empties, I love to pick up a few clean beauty essentials. While you’re at the store, I recommend checking out Cocofloss, an exfoliating coconut-oil infused dental floss that’s free of toxic ingredients. Literally my favorite floss! It’s also a really great opportunity to test out makeup shades in person. Two of my favorite clean makeup brands are Ilia and Kjaer Weis, and they’re both available at Credo Beauty.
