I have never really used primers in the past but I have oily skin so by the end of the day I always feel like my BB cream is sliding off my face. The Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer is a mineral-based, water-resistant primer that neutralizes the skin, minimizes shine, and creates a smooth, uniform canvas for flawless makeup application.

This clean, satin-finish formula helps keep makeup looking fresh and prevents fading. The Veil Mineral Primer also absorbs excess oils and minimizes the appearance of pores by evenly distributing light to help hide and soften the look of skin imperfections and fine lines.

The full-sized primer is $52, which felt like a lot so I bought the mini 0.3 oz version for $18. I love smaller sized travel minis. I feel like I can never finish full-sized products before their expiration date and it is just a waste. I was curious why there was so much hype over a primer but I totally get it. It is silky, lightweight and perfect for oily skin. It creates a super smooth base for makeup and keeps my face matte the entire day. It’s incredible. Even when I don’t wear makeup, sometimes I will still wear the primer for the SPF and to keep my skin from getting too oily. You only need to use a little bit every time so even this small bottle will last me a long time. Definitely something I will repurchase because it is a product I can’t believe I have lived without!

(Update: one month later and I purchased the full-sized version because it is the best primer I have ever used.)
