Cleansers & Mists

When I’m wearing makeup, I always double cleanse. I start with an oil cleanser and then finish with a normal cleanser plus my Clinique Sonic Brush. The Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Milk was my first time using a milk versus an oil. I found that it was gentle but wasn’t as effective for me? I enjoyed the scent but will probably stick to cleansing oils. It’s all just personal preference though!  I received the tiny bottle of Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil as a Sephora deluxe sample so it was good to bring along for short trips. Tatcha also makes amazing travel sized products and their One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil is fantastic.

I feel like I go through toners and face mists so fast, anyone else feel this way? Recently I’ve been using the Glossier Cotton Pads which are just so cute and make putting on toner so fun, haha. In my opinion, I don’t see too much of a difference in results with the toners I use. However, I do notice a difference when I don’t use toner versus when I do so I use one every morning and every evening. Out of the four, I liked the Ursa Major Essential Face Tonic and Osea Sea Minerals Mist the best. I also like using the Sea Minerals Mist to spray my face before applying oils, as it helps the oil absorb better into the skin.

Serums & Treatments

Serums and treatments are my favorite products. I’m obsessed with the Sunday Riley U.F.O Ultra-Clarifying Oil, I included it in Favorite Products of 2017 list and am already onto the next bottle. I only use the U.F.O oil at night though so in the mornings I like to reach for either a hydrating serum or a Vitamin C serum. Brighten Up Vitamin C Serum from Ursa Major smells so good and goes on very smoothly. I can’t wait for my next bottle to come in the mail! I bought the Bobbi Brown Extra Face Oil before I was well versed in oils so I don’t think it was the right type for my skin. However, I did love the Calming Algae Complex from Bobbi. I think Bobbi Brown has been killing it with their Remedies collection, I’ve loved every product I’ve tried from that line so far.

Moisture

Osea has some of the cutest little sample tubes. I brought my teeny Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream sample with me when I went home for Chinese New Year last weekend and it was the perfect amount to last the weekend. The Blemish Balm from Osea is probably one of my favorite evening moisturizers if you have acne prone skin. It contains tea tree oil and doesn’t clog pores. I think the First Aid Beauty Lip Therapy might have melted in my bag or my pocket at some point so it’s kind of liquefied but after a few years I have finally finished it!!

Masks

Recently I’ve been trying a new thing where I sleep early, like 10 PM and wake up at 5:30 am. That gives me a lot of time in the morning so I’ve been doing a lot of early AM masking. My lovely friend Kate started VELVET and I love to mix honey with the VELVET VIP Treatment Detox Mask with some spritzes of rosewater. Mixing those ingredients together gives the mask a similar consistency to May Lindstrom’s Honey Mud. Another morning favorite of mine is the Tata Harper Purifying Mask. I’ve been breaking out a lot recently for some reason so I feel like this mask is good to pre-emptively keep pimples at bay. The next Tata Harper mask I’m planning on trying is either the clarifying or the resurfacing. The Bobbi Brown and Origins Moisture Masks have both been amazing to use during the cold winter. My skin and scalp have both been so dry because of the weather that sometimes I’ll also use the Drink Up Intensive as an overnight scalp mask. It is so incredibly soothing!

Love reading about empties as much as I do? You can find the other posts here.
